Pixel 2 devices can now have Alexa as default voice assistant

Since launching their Alexa Voice Assistant officially in Australia earlier this year, it seems Amazon is getting more useful.

Microsoft and Amazon executives used Microsoft's Build 2018 conference in Seattle to demonstrate how future users will be able to access either Cortana or Alexa through their Cortana-enabled or Alexa-enabled devices.

We love Google Home and Assistant here at Android Central, but we love the Amazon Echo and Alexa just as much.

Alexa with Cortana and Cortana with Alexa will first be made available in limited beta, said Cortana general manager Megan Saunders. And once you've pulled up Alexa it's worth noting that it won't be able to call up any maps or make calls for you so you'll mostly be using it to set alarms, send messages, make appointments and perform Google searches.

Previous U.S. efforts to negotiate an end to the North's nuclear weapons program failed under Presidents Clinton and George W. In March, Kim travelled by train to Beijing , his first known trip overseas since assuming power in 2011.

The reaction, as shown above, obviously received applause from the crowd who clearly understand the Halo reference stated within Alexa's reply.

These are, however, small sacrifices to make for the voice assistant you love most. Or you could ask Cortana to open Alexa, and use Alexa on devices such as your PC. Last week, Google revealed that the Assistant now works with over 5,000 devices. You can use these links to get the apps: Alexa, Cortana. That being said, Amazon's Alexa can also be installed on an Android smartphone. She challenged developers to start thinking of ideas that would enhance the connection between the two digital assistants.

The imminent partnership between Alexa and Cortana could be an interesting relationship, in part because Alexa offers hundreds of skills and third-party services that Alexa can tap into. This was important to her as all her personal information was known only to Cortana as she uses a Microsoft account for all her work.

Unless you respond to these prompts from the secondary assistant, we assume it defaults back to Alexa/Cortana. So a user, while at work, might say "Cortana, open Alexa" to do something like turn on the porch light at home or buy something online.
