Richmond Police pedal to nation's capital to honor fallen officers

The memorial service will honor the memory of Acadiana area law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, with a special dedication to honor Corporal Michael Middlebrook killed in the line of duty October 01, 2017. "On Peace Officers Memorial Day - and every day - we honor the fearless men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty". "And tonight as we formally dedicate the names of these men and women; we honor their courage and we salute their sacrifice".

The national observance is organized by a group led by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), Concerns of Police Survivors, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary.

Allery was fatally shot by 28-year-old Melvin Gene Delong, of Belcourt, after a pursuit on January 18, 2017.

The annual Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Service will start at noon, Friday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3811 N. Main Street. His commitment to enforcing the law, helping those in need and protecting the community touched the lives of those he served with.

Also during this week the Names of fallen officers will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Those law enforcement officers traveled hundreds of miles from across the country. "So on behalf of my Office, I want to personally thank every law enforcement officer and their families for their service, sacrifice and echo the Attorney General's remarks that we have your back".

And she gave her permission for them to Wednesday at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19 . There are also olive branches beneath it which were inspired by the Great Seal of the United States .

TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 15, 2018, as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 13 through May 19, 2018, as Police Week.

"Anytime there's that you see officers that are hurt or killed in the line of duty, it really touches home because it's just another reminder of what we put on the line every day", says Sgt. Haskins.

"It's truly a great honor for our local county Sheriff's Office to honor and pay respect to Trooper Allen and his family", Wilson said.

"This year's observance is particularly meaningful for those of us in CT as we continue to mourn the loss of State Police Trooper First Class Kevin Miller, who was killed in the line of duty just seven weeks ago", the governor's statement continued. With the addition of the 360 names this year, a total of 21,541 officers' names are engraved on the Memorial.
