Iran, EU meet to try to save nuclear deal

Zarif said in Beijing on Sunday: "We hope that with this visit to China and other countries we will be able to construct a clear future design for the comprehensive agreement".

Mr Zarif wrote on Monday that he had "good and substantive meetings" with his counterparts in Russian Federation and China as he sought to preserve what he said was a "unique achievement of diplomacy" during the first legs of his tour of key capitals.

In the CNN interview, Bolton did not respond directly when asked whether Trump might seek "regime change" in Iran, or whether the US military would be ordered to make a preemptive strike against any Iranian nuclear facility.

Last month, 26 former top-ranking Israeli military and security officials signed a letter urging the United States to maintain the agreement, stating unequivocally that the deal is working and that a US decision to pull out would undermine not just USA security, but Israel's security as well.

U.S. President Donald Trump on May 8 announced that the United States was withdrawing from a 2015 deal negotiated by the Obama administration.

Bolton also reiterated the administration's objection to the sunset provisions in the Iran deal, which President Donald Trump called "totally unacceptable".

The foreign ministers of Britain, France, Germany and Iran will hold talks in Brussels on Tuesday to discuss saving the deal.

European participants in the nuclear deal with Iran should provide within 60 days guarantees on the preservation of the agreement.

Police were then reportedly called, and T.I. was arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness charges. In a video posted to The Blast , T.I. called the arrest "nonsense", and said he was "inconvenienced".

Although the sanctions affect only US companies, the Trump administration is putting pressure on European allies to impose their own sanctions.

"The European Union (EU) will maintain its commitment to the nuclear deal, as long as Iran does the same", said O'Sullivan.

"We know it's a hard task but we are determined to do it and we have started to work to put in place measures that help ensure this happens", she told reporters. "Its ballistic missile program, which continued essentially unchecked, was proof that what they were seeking was delivery systems for the nuclear weapons", Bolton told CNN. Iranian hard-liners who always felt the agreement made too many concessions may be emboldened to restart nuclear enrichment, but they could risk airstrikes from the United States and Israel if they did so.

As those sanctions kick in, it will have an even broader effect as well, Bolton said.

"We will discuss the decision to be taken by Iran..."

Commercial deals with Tehran are on top of the priorities behind the decision to join or withdraw from the nuclear agreement with Iran. “Europeans should not have to pay for USA withdrawal from an agreement.”.

Germany's minister for economic affairs, Peter Altmaier, said on Sunday that Berlin would try to "persuade the USA government to change its behavior".

"I'm not going to pretend to you now that it will be easy but we are determined to do that", he added, saying it was "vital that we continue to engage with the US".
