Suspended schoolteacher shot dead in her mother's driveway on Mother's Day

Rachael Deltondo, 35, was suspended last November from the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School over the alleged affair with a 17-year-old.

She also said 'she didn't want her fiancé to know that she was here parked because he would get mad'.

The police have launched a full homicide investigation. Neighbors said they heard up to 12 shots fired that night.

CBS Pittsburgh met DelTondo past year when she was the subject of a CBS Pittsburgh report as a bride-to-be in a dispute over her custom wedding dress.

"Ms DelTondo was employed by PA Cyber but on a paid suspension". Police had been called in around 10:30 P.M. local time where they found DelTondo; she was found shot after getting out of her auto, with neighbors claiming they heard around 10 to 12 gunshots.

"It's shameful that this woman was painted with a police report that had been written that did not result in criminal charges", Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier told CBS.

Authorities say 33-year-old Rachael DelTondo was shot multiple times Sunday in Aliquippa (al-uh-KWIH'-puh), in suburban Pittsburgh.

They've been canvassing the neighborhood, reviewing surveillance tapes, and have sent DelTondo's cell phone and others to a lab in Harrisburg to unlock the data, texts and communications. The email pointed to the police report and said that DelTondo was in a "relationship" with the boy.

No charges were brought, but DelTondo was still suspended by the school. When qeustioned by the officer, Deltondo claimed that she was just friends with the student and that they were only talking; police added that she claimed she was only talking with the teen because "he was upset and needed someone to talk to". School officials only found out about the incident in October 2017, and later learned that the teenager was never a student at PA Cyber.

Brian Hayden, CEO of Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, said that because he is a mandatory reporter, he had to notify Pennsylvania Childline when he received the email, even though it was about an incident that had happened almost two years earlier.

The leak prompted a state police investigation of the Aliquippa Police - which DelTondo complied with. We have no additional information beyond what is being reported by local media. We express our sympathy to her family, friends, and co-workers.

But the wedding was called off unexpectedly - a few months after DelTondo was caught with the teen, but before the report was made public.

Though known in local media outlets for her dispute with her wedding dress designer, Rachael DelTondo was once a teacher.
