Toys ‘R’ Us Closes Doors

The gutting news of the company going into admisntration was followed by even more tragic news in March this year whenToys "R" Us founder Charles P Lazarus died at the age of 94.

Ms Johnpiere also posted several photos of an empty Toys "R" Us store on Friday, saying: "Last pictures of store after we locked the doors for the last time". Numerous employees losing their jobs have worked for the company for decades.

Toys R Us, which also owned Babies R Us, collapsed in February after they were unable to pay a £15million tax bill. "I like the idea of donating the toys".

In addition to online platforms like Inc (AMZN.O), analysts have pointed to Walmart Inc (WMT.N), Target Corp (TGT.N), JC Penney Co Inc (JCP.N), Kohls Corp (KSS.N) and Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY.O) as chains that could pick up market share from Toys "R" Us.

The toy store chain, which opened in 1948 as Children's Bargain Town, per CNBC, filed for bankruptcy in September and announced in January that it would close 180 stores, according to the Deseret News.

The closure will leave thousands of workers across the United States without a job. Employees at the Boynton Beach, Florida, store made their frustrations known by hanging signs around the store and protesting outside, WPTV reported.

So, it would seem those discussions have progressed far enough for Toys "R" Us to some hope to fans through that initial post. Forbes, who started with the company in 1987, said she would continue to work until her store in Phoenix, Arizona, closes for good this week.

Employees remained quiet on the buyer, but some customers guessed a celebrity or philanthropist bought the toys.
