LeBron James to join LA Lakers

The Lakers have the most cap space of any National Basketball Association team in the league, giving them ultimate flexibility when constructing a team for next season.According to Hoops Rumors, a free agent like LeBron James, i.e. any player with 10+ years of experience, can make a max salary of $35.35 million next season.

In fact, losing James in free agency would drop the team below the league's luxury tax line for the first time in quite a while. Eastern Time on Sunday morning, Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman was on the phone with LeBron James and his agent, Rich Paul, sources told ESPN.

By declining his option, James positioned himself to be able to choose where he'll play next, and Cleveland, just up the road from his home near Akron, remains a strong possibility.

Epic will not reinstate Fortnite's Playground mode until next week
The mysterious announcement is likely referring to the launch of a missile, which many fans theorise will change the game forever. Epic developers took to reddit to explain what Fornite's latest LTM needs, and why it's proved such a strain on the server.

At this point, all we really know is that there are a couple of teams being mentioned for LeBron James, and it doesn't sound like he's taken any in-person meetings. Cleveland has lost to Golden State in the finals each of the last two years, and in three of the last four.

Kevin Durant, Paul George and Chris Paul all made quick decisions to stay put and remain in the Western Conference. "So, that's a move that they're going to make", Payton remarked. This ended more than a year of rumors that LeBron would be headed to the Lakers, and the deal may kick off even more fireworks for the Lakers. James agreed to a four-year contract with the team worth $154 million, Klutch said. He averaged 27.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 9.1 assists during the regular season. From there, Los Angeles would have some roster shuffling to do to add a key second piece.

If he had the "Big 3" when he moved to Miami in 2010 and a pair of All-Stars when he returned to Cleveland in 2014, James isn't joining a loaded squad in LA - at least not yet. It's the last long-term max contract that James can sign thanks to the NBA CBA's Over-38 rule (formerly the Over-37 rule). He's the next superstar to follow in the legacy that Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson built for the Lakers.
