Goalkeeper Alisson has seen just one goal slip past him so far in Russian Federation, but Willian points to their all-round strength rather than a negative attitude as the principal explanation.

The 2018 World Cup has been one of huge shocks. They have so, so, so many exciting players, but have thus far failed to find anything like top gear at the World Cup.

The five-time winners also surpassed Germany's World Cup record of 226 World Cup goals, moving on to 228 after Neymar and Firmino's strikes.

Mexico were the story of the tournament after two games, beating defending champions Germany 1-0 on the first day and getting past South Korea 2-1 the next match.

Neymar broke through Mexico's stern resistance by setting up the opener when his back-heel released Willian. Ochoa, showing form again, got faintest of touches to the ball but it fell in substitute Firmino's path, who with one touch, slotted the ball inside the net.

He scored the game's first goal and assisted its second but received plenty of criticism for the way he went down when challenged. It turned out to be pure histrionics.

Since the brilliance of Neymar came up, let's also discuss another feature of his game; his ability to make a fool of himself while trying to be smart.

Messi did not score in that last-16 game and endured a miserable time of it in Kazan.

Almost 600 People Arrested Protesting Trump Immigration Policies
Jayapal told KIRO Radio that Thursday's event was one of many demonstrations planned to protest the immigration policies. Celebrities including Susan Sarandon were among the group of protestors.

This is a testament to Brazil's defence who are often subjected to accusations they are rarely tested and once they are they won't be able to cope.

But they couldn't find a way to stop Neymar, who has scored two goals in four matches in Russian Federation. "In the defensive situation, we were very solid", Willian said after the final whistle. When we do have the ball, we try to do what we know we do well.

"I'm embarrassed for Neymar", said former England striker Dion Dublin on BBC Radio 5 live.

Reaction: Neymar scared by a ghost?

This was similar to the performances against Costa Rica and Serbia last week when they did just about enough to win. A video review reversed the decision to award a penalty kick and Neymar's frustrations a few minutes later led to a yellow card.

Momentum was with Mexico in the opening 20 minutes, with El Tri's attacking trio of Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela and Hirving Lozano particularly testing Tete's men down the flanks and forcing Brazil into retreat.

Neymar was asked about Osorio's comments but it was the moment Tite took charge. Tite came to join him.

It can have no complaints about its loss to Brazil, though; the Brazilians were the better team and looked fresher even at the end.
