Elon Musk Sends Engineers to Help Soccer Team Trapped in Thailand

Overnight it emerged that a former Thai navy diver had died while returning from delivering oxygen to the 12 boys and their football coach trapped in the Tham Luang cave complex in Northern Thailand.

The team was found by a pair of British volunteer divers, 10 days after they entered the cave.

"Some SpaceX and Boring Company engineers are on the way now and more are leaving for Thailand in the next 24 hours", a Boring Co. spokesperson told BuzzFeed.

He also raised the possibility of a nylon tube being inserted into the cave to inflate it with air "like a bouncy castle".

The rescue mission has proven to be exceedingly complex, numerous passageways leading into the cave are narrow, and most of the boys do not know how to swim.

A Twitter user highlighted the narrowest parts of the cave, where the diameter is just 70 centimeters (28 inches), as well as parts of the route that are flooded.

Sharif, who was ousted as prime minister past year for corruption, was also fined $8m by the National Accountability Bureau court. The court ruled that the Sharif family's Avenfield apartments in London shall be seized by the federal government.

Musk commented that he believes the first bit of water could probably be pumped out, while engineers would use air pumps, tubes and battery packs for the second and third rounds of water.

Thai rescue personnel pump water from Tham Luang cave. Time is of the essence since more flooding rains are expected over the weekend, and oxygen in the caves may be running low.

Officials had initially considered leaving the boys in the chamber to wait out the rainy season - which could have seen them trapped there for up to four months.

Elon Musk replied to a fan who asked if he could help the children in anyway, saying "the Thai govt has this under control, but I'm happy to help if there is a way to do so".

Will this solution work? Proposed "buddy dive' plan to rescue boys in Thai cave could launch this weekendThai officials say the 12 boys stranded inside the cave are strong enough to walk but can't swim safely yet". Musk indicated on Wednesday that he might be able to help with this effort. Don't know if pump rate is limited by electric power or pumps are too small.

One of Mr Musk's enterprises is Boring Co, which digs tunnels for transport systems and has advanced ground-penetrating radar. Then, Musk confirmed that his team was on the way.
