How Trump's former lawyer evolved on dealing with Mueller

Rudy Giuliani says on ABC's "This Week" Sunday that they have no worries about Michael Cohen "as long as he tells the truth".

President Donald Trump's lead attorney said Sunday that lawyers have put off a decision on an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller due to their concern about what the president sees as a corrupt and tainted probe.

Stephanopoulos asked Giuliani. "Same as mine, which is fine".

Former federal prosecutor and Fox News contributor Andy McCarthy said Giuliani is implementing a smart strategy because the Mueller probe has always been about public opinion, and a new Washington Post-Schar School poll shows Americans are increasingly disapproving of the way Mueller has handled the Russian Federation probe.

"So you want Michael Cohen to cooperate with the feds?"

"My wife, my daughter and my son have my first loyalty and always will", Cohen said. "He has no evidence of, nor was he involved in anything untoward with the President".

Davis, who worked as President Clinton's special counsel in the late 1990s, was hired by Cohen last week.

Is the Mercedes F1 dynasty finally starting to wobble?
But Hamilton said he was relishing the challenge from Ferrari - and the evolving Silverstone circuit. Fernando Alonso also had a big wobble as his McLaren ran wide on Turn 13 but he managed to recover.

Giuliani acknowledged the White House not agreeing to an interview with a member of Trump's staff was new, given that other key staffers, including Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, have spoken with investigators. The president did nothing wrong with him, so we've gone through every document we can.

Giuliani said he was not concerned by the interview.

Scarborough makes no mention of the strong evidence showing that the FBI spied for Lyndon Baines Johnson's presidential campaign, as the Wall Street Journal reported, "On the president's orders, the bureau wiretapped Barry Goldwater's plane and headquarters."

But the examples of corruption resulting from the Mueller investigation Scarborough cited are not directly related to actions that occurred during the campaign; they are actions taken before or after the campaign. "Or is there a factual basis for this?" Giuliani called Mueller's inquiry "a witch hunt and an attempt to trap him in perjury".

"If he wants to cooperate I think it's great", he said. In it, Kasowitz argues that Comey can not be trusted as a witness because he repeatedly embellished his testimony before Congress, put his "own personal interests and emotions" above Federal Bureau of Investigation protocol and left a cloud of undue suspicion above the president's head. Cohen gave an interview to ABC last week in which he signaled he might be willing to cooperate.

Cohen also defended the Mueller investigation as a whole, saying, "I respect our nation's intelligence agencies'".
