Anthony is soon to be a free agent if the Thunder can't guarantee a trade.

The Houston Rockets are becoming the most likely suitor for Oklahoma City exile, Carmelo Anthony.

Wojnarowski adds that the Rockets will be a "premium consideration" for Anthony, and they'll likely want his services too because of the losses they have already suffered this offseason through free agency.

There have been several reports of what exactly the Rockets have been offering Capela, with the most recent $85 million rumor coming from the Houston Chronicle, who cited sources with knowledge of the situation.

The Thunder could save close to $100 million in luxury tax by waiving Anthony, then stretching his remaining $27.9 million over three seasons (the Thunder has until August 31 to stretch his contract).

We wanted to play good football, work hard, play with passion - and we have done that. I don't think that is right because every keeper is different.

Paul Pierce says Carmelo Anthony's best fit is with the Houston Rockets. Swapping Melo for a player (s) of lesser value would also create a trade exception for OKC. Despite his defensive limitations, Anthony shot 37.2 percent on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers in his lone season with the Thunder, and made a career-high 169 3-pointers.

Green originally signed with the Rockets on December 28, 2017 and averaged 12.1 points over the remainder of the season.

James's Los Angeles Lakers could also offer Anthony a possible way out of Oklahoma while remaining Banana Boat buddy Wade would also relish the chance to play alongside the former Denver Nugget in South Beach.

Anthony expressed to the Thunder at the end of the team's playoff run he would not accept a bench role.
