Manchester United 'reject Barcelona swap deal' involving Paul Pogba and Yerry Mina

United insisted on Monday night that Pogba is not for sale and they are believed to have rejected an opening offer from Barcelona of £44.6million plus two players - Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

United said last night that Pogba was not for sale amid claims that Barcelona and Juventus want to sign the World Cup victor before the European transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

It seems inconceivable that United would let go of their record signing, and Pogba's camp accept it will be hard to complete a deal before the transfer window closes.

Pogba, a favourite of executive vice chairman Ed Woodward, has three years left on his contract with the option of a further 12 months, and the club are under no pressure to sell.

United can still receive offers for players after Thursday, but will not be able to pursue targets to replace Pogba.

His agent, Mino Raiola, is expected in Manchester this week to negotiate the transfer of Pogba out of Old Trafford.

Pogba endured a turbulent time at Old Trafford last season.

The Portuguese harshly criticised some of the younger players on tour with his team in the United States, while he has also warned the board over their lack of activity in the transfer window.

"I think the World Cup is the flawless habitat for a player like him to give [their] best", Mourinho said.

"I don't think it's about us getting the best out of him", Mourinho told ESPN FC. Where he's with his team on the training camp, completely isolated from the external world, where they focus just on football, where the dimensions of the game can only motivate.

Italian newspaper, TuttoSport reports that Juventus are ready to beat Barcelona for Pogba's signature by including Pjanic.
